RIYADH: The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) continues to provide critical assistance to vulnerable populations around the world, with recent projects launched across Somalia, Yemen, Chad, and Burkina Faso, the Saudi Press Agency reported.
In Somalia, KSrelief distributed 1,155 food baskets to displaced and needy families in Baidoa district, located in the Bay region. The aid benefited 6,930 individuals. The agency also signed an agreement with the International Wars and Disaster Victims’ Protection Association to implement the third phase of a dialysis center project at Banadir Hospital in Mogadishu, set to serve 665 patients.
In Yemen, the center delivered 3,471 food packages to underserved communities in Al-Madinah district in the Marib governorate, reaching 24,297 beneficiaries.
In Chad, KSrelief signed an agreement with a civil society organization to distribute 800 tonnes of dates as part of a $2 million food security initiative. The program is expected to support approximately 500,000 people across several regions.
The center also carried out the Saudi Noor program in Burkina Faso, a two-week medical campaign focused on treating preventable blindness and related eye diseases. During the campaign, KSrelief’s medical team examined 8,000 individuals, distributed 2,000 eyeglasses, provided medications to 3,886 patients, and performed 800 surgeries.
Since its establishment in May 2015, KSrelief has implemented 3,438 projects valued at over $7.9 billion in 107 countries, in cooperation with more than 318 international, regional, and local partners.
These efforts reflect Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian relief and global development.
